I have been battling with my weight since I was an early teenager. Always in sports I could eat what I wanted without worrying about gaining too much weight. Of course, after high school, life moved on and I continued all of the same bad eating habits but without the exercise to help balance things out. What I didn’t realize until now is that the exercise was masking a much bigger problem.
During my second pregnancy my husband was injured in a very bad accident and ended up in and out of the hospital for about two years. I gained 75 pounds in those two years. I knew I needed help, I kept taking the diet challenge and I knew I wouldn’t win. I tried just about every diet you could think of and I have lost with just about all of them. I did what most people do and I gained all of it and a little more back every time.
I knew I needed someone or something that could help me change the process. That’s when I found Robin and the hCG protocol. This combination was exactly what I needed: a no-nonsense program holding me accountable and with immediate physical consequences, making the cheating an obvious problem. So I decided to do it.
The first protocol was really hard. Not because I was hungry, but because I had so many habits that I was unaware of. Things such as picking food off of my kid’s plates; or snacking because it was there and not because I was hungry. I met with Robin once a week and she helped me get over that mental block. We worked on things like putting foods on my plate that I absolutely love, like pizza. I was allowed to eat everything around it but not the piece of pizza itself. I know it sounds harsh and I’m not going to lie! It was really hard but the satisfaction in knowing I didn’t need it, and choosing not to eat it, was far more satisfying than eating the pizza.
After my first protocol I lost 28 pounds. I have now finished my second protocol and I have lost a total of 50 pounds in four months. The best part is that I live free from a diet. I don’t need food to control how I feel about life and food is no longer my reward. I can go out with friends and I don’t feel like I need to eat to have fun. I am able to choose better foods because that’s the foods I crave. I have broken so many habits and the Mind:Body Method helped me learn that life is about choices. Its takes breaking that mental hold you have over yourself and the resolve to make that right decision not because you have to but because you want to!
