Is it safe?

HCG has been FDA approved and is primarily prescribed for men and women as a fertility treatment. The FDA’s stance is “inconclusive” with regard to the protocol and they suggest hCG is inappropriate therapy for weight loss.

There is not enough research and not enough scientific data supporting weight loss with hCG injections, and studies didn’t show a significant difference in total amount weight lost with or without hCG. Safety of hCG was not of concern during the studies.

You can get a prescription of hCG “off label” from a doctor if they know what the protocol is and are willing to perscribe it for weight loss.

A doctor can help determine if you are not a good candidate for the hCG protocol. It may not be recommended for individuals with cancer or blood disorders.
